Enjoy a 2for1 admission at Ightham Mote with your Kent Pass!
Hidden away in a secluded Kent valley is Ightham’s perfectly preserved medieval moated manor house. It has been described as “'one of the most beautiful and interesting of English country houses', featuring 14 acres of gardens, lakes, natural springs, secret glades and a house full of stories and character.
Built nearly 700 years ago, it followed a 20 year restoration and conservation project and has been featured on TV. Visitor highlights include the picturesque courtyard, Great Hall, the Tudor painted ceiling of the New Chapel, the Grade I listed dog kennel and the private apartments of Charles Henry Robinson.
The house is surrounded by flowing water like something out of a fairy tale and also has wonderfully peaceful gardens with an orchard, lakes and woodland walks. Visit the Mote Café for lunch or explore the Coach House Shop with its great selection of local products and National Trust ranges.
Garden tours are available on selected days. The woods have a natural play area where kids can connect with the trees and water. Families can also explore the kids’ trail or have a go at ticking off some of the National Trust’s 50 things to do before you’re 11¾!
